Yesterday we had a "guest" preacher at our church. He is a member of our church so he really isn't a guest. Our Pastor and his team were on a staff retreat.

Anyway~one thing that Dr. Pic said that really hit home to me was this, "I think the greatest sin is the sin of self sufficiency."

Oh my!! I am so guilty of self sufficiency at times~~ everything is going good~~Sweet Jesus gets put on the back burner. What a horrible thing to do to Him. Lord, forgive me.

I want more of Jesus ALL the time not just when things are a mess and there's nothing I can do. I want more when my kids are acting like they should and we get a good report from my husband's doctor. I want more when there is money in the bank not just when there is $5 to live on til the next paycheck.

Lord, please remind me of this wonderful message daily!! I want more of You all the time.

200th POST!!!! WOO-HOO

We have been missing in action!!!

Our denomination's National Convention was this week in Charleston, West Virginia and that's where we have been.

If you remember from this post, Trevor and Shelby were in the NYC competitions. We left on Sunday and came back yesterday. The kids did awesome. Trevor's drama group won 2nd place and Shelby's trio won 1st place!! Shelby didn't place in her solo competition but she was okay with that and wants to try again next year.

Here are a few pics from the Convention:

Mackenzie, Ramaya, and Shelby after their performance on Tuesday

Abby and Mommy goofing off.

The Civic Center where our services were held each night. This pic was taken before the place was packed!!!

Abby taking a snooze during one of the services. I don't know how she slept like this for over an hour but she did.

Stopping to pose for Mama:~)(Mackenzie had to leave before the awards ceremony)

We had a great time and we are making plans to attend next year in Cincinnati, OH. Hopefully, the kids will place in District and State Competitions next year so they can compete nationally again. We loved it!!

Went to a Birthday party at our friend's house for their daughter. She is turning 16 this week. It was a blast. All the kids got wet and some of the adults-ahem. They did a great job with her party, lots of food and fun.

Church and spaghetti dinner to raise money for the kids that are competing at the Nationals next week. Shelby and Trevor helped serve because they are competing. We will be leaving on Sunday for Charleston, WV and the kids will be competing on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday will be the awards ceremony.

Today, Trevor went to talk to his new, old boss and get his new uniform. Let me explain about the new, old thing. Robert was Trevor's first boss at Chickfila until he got a free standing store about a year after Trevor started working for him. He has been pursuing Trev since he finished out at the other CFA. He is starting Trev out 75 cents more than he was making.

Needless to say, Trevor is glad to have a job again. He is not working this week or next, he will start the next week.

How was your weekend??
