For the past two days Mike and I have been plugging away at cleaning out the garage.
Geezz~it's like everything in there had babies, grandchil'rns, and great grandchil'rns!!!
I can honestly say I have thrown away more in the past two days than any other time in our 17 (almost 18) years of marriage~~and that's because obviously I have never thrown anything away:~)
I came across a big storage container full of papers from back in the day and to be perfectly honest my family didn't get supper til 8:30 last night because I was so engrossed in some of these notes from high school.
I got rid of a lot of them but some of them I just could not part with.
I didn't keep a journal but my best friend and I kept a "note" notebook that we wrote back and forth in. We didn't go to the same school and we lived about 15 miles from each other so we mostly kept up with each other by writing notes and exchanging them at church.
Back then, it was also long distance to call her house so we did not talk on the phone all that much but we wrote pages and pages and pages of notes.
I love them! They are full of teenage angst and unrequited love. When I read those letters I think about how my friends have shaped my life.
One other note I found was from my husband's best friend David. In this note I asked if he minded if I go with him and Mike to lunch. I get the giggles every time I read it because he writes me back and says, "I don't mind if you go but you might not be able to handle Mike's driving." Were you trying to warn me, David???? (I can still see Mr. Garvin up in front of the class with his polo shirt pulled real tight in the front:~)
Man, that note was written a long time ago!!! Well~obviously, David, you had little faith that I could handle Mike's driving. I am proud to say I have endured for almost 20 years and it has been a wild ride:~) We have been in multiple wrecks together~2 before we were married and I am still riding along side him today~literally and figuratively.
What have you done with your notes from high school?

SIAM I AM
I had the best Thai food today~well, I guess it was~it was the first time I have ever had Thai food.
It was good!
I have felt very "off" the past couple of weeks.
Do you know what I mean by that?
I mean there is nothing really wrong, nothing I can put my finger on, I just feel off my game.
Or something. Thoroughly confused now?
I guess I shouldn't write about it if I can't explain it but, opps, too late now;~)
I am in the throws of planning an awesome graduation weekend for my Trev. We are so excited about family coming and we are going to PARRRTTAAAYY!!!
Jealous, aren't ya???
You should be:~)
I love that boy, Lordy mercy!!
